The lake with its peaceful and quiet exterior and feeling, always made him feel better. The lake was frozen now and surrounded by a white fluffy blanket of snow. The only disturbance where the footprints left by Olivier. But those would be covered before long, as thick snowflakes fell down from the sky.
He shivered, the cold slowly seeping into his bones, even though he was wearing multiple layers of clothing. The time away from the academy.. He didn’t know if it had done him any good or not. He sometimes still felt sad, horrible, and awful. The nightmares would probably never really leave him. The doctor in the small Novan village had said so, anyways. And why shouldn’t he believe her?
Sighing, he started to draw random figures in the snow with his shoes. He wasn’t going to go on the lake. He didn’t trust the ice, what if he fell through? He was many things, but suicidal was not one of those things, that had never been one of those things.
He missed his dad and his mom, even though he had never really known the latter that well. He missed his friends. The castle felt just so immensely big and lonely on some days. There were good days yes, and he treasured those. His breath came out in small puffs of white. Maybe he should take some advice his uncle had given him. Something you needed to cry but other times, you just needed to scream. And thus he did. He screamed as loud as he could until his lungs gave out and his throat felt sore. Did it help? He didn’t know, he hoped it would. But it sure did feel good to do it. The lake turned quiet again, as if the water and surrounding forest absorbed the sound.

He looked up to the sky, little white snowflakes falls on his face. Closing his eyes he takes a moment to appreciate the cold feeling on his face and closed eyes. Sometimes it's all you need when you have a heavy heart. But for today he was done with his classes, so he could also just walk around and see how life at school goes. He goes around the castle, looks at the details of the architecture. It was another kind of passion he always had. Well all this was also a way to put his mind off his dark though. God he missed her so much... His feet dissapears in the white snow carpet. The crackling sound it gets when his feet touch the hard ground gives a funny feeling. Without he really thinks about it, his steps bring him away of the castle, to the lake. Just a few time he had been here and that's sad, since it is marvelous to see how it changes every day. All packed up in a leather jacket and a grey scarf he looks into the frozen water, his reflection broken by nature. Broken like he is sometimes. If only you could be able to show it that easy how broken you are and people would understand it. It would make everything so easy. A loud scream brings his back with his feet on the ground and shocked he looks around. Where did that come from? From where he is standing, he doesn't see a soul, so he starts running to where he though it came from. What if someone fell and hurt himself? There isn't anyone nearby. Most of the students and teachers are now inside. Let's hope it's nothing to bad and it can be helped by only him. Suddenly he stops running, he sees a small boy and it doesn't seems he is hurt. At least not as long he can see. "Hey kid. Are you alright?"

WINTER
Tijdens de winter is het terrein van de school in diepe rust. De meeste dieren zijn onvindbaar verscholen en de ijzige wind houd ook de leerlingen binnen. De perfecte tijd om met een kop warme choco naar de vallende sneeuw te kijken.
