i. Introduction

The one proud race of demons had once again been banished back to their homeland. Where man had become too greedy, the demons had understood that they were no longer welcome and disappeared. Many were filled with hate, others with something more, a lust for the power they had lacked on Shadra. From being oppressed to being free again, a new dawn rose. The dawn of the Order of Mastera.

Seizing power and gaining control of Limbo, the Order rules with an iron fist, making up promises of better times, a greater future and above all, no shackles for any demon. While they keep order and maintain the civilization, they also thrive on the hate against the humans that once drove them back. As long as they are obeyed, anyone is safe. Defy them, and you might not tell the tale..

With any body of government, comes a set of rules, a hierachy, the law and whatnot. The Order makes sure everything is strictly followed, though seems to overlook certain things as long as it is in their benefit. They are by far not a policestate and Limbo can be described as being in a strange state of anarchy, though lawlessness is far from the truth. After all, demons are civilised, just like you and me.

ii. History of Limbo

Limbo was just there, there is no explanation only that the demons they believe that they are blessed because someone, somewhere gifted them this soil and gave them a chance to live. There is no deity connected to this, they are simply just thankful. Therefor, demons usually are quite materialistic, thinking that the more they possess, the more they show their gratitude towards the ‘Blesser’.

While Limbo doesn’t offer much, it is still enough for the demons. Some may describe it as a wasteland, others just simply say it is a dark desert full of nothing. But what doesn’t meet the eye is the strong magic tethered to the land. The soil is rich with crystals and energy, making it easy for anyone to harness the power the land bears and create something from it.
Like the first Daemon perhaps.

Year 0.
The Year Zero comes back twice in demon history. Some believe only in the first, others believe in the second, after all, it is just a matter of perspective. But this is the First Year Zero; or how some describe it: the creation of the first Daemon. Again, the stories around this marvellous creation are vague, full of holes and many tell a different tale.

Because the magic was so strong in Limbo, it is possible that the magic tethers could have clashed, creating something that we now call the demonrace. The magic clashing with the crystals and the energy in the soil, would have created life, but that would mean that demons would also be able to use light magic or already possess it, while they always harness dark.
This first Daemon goes without a name. Some speak of him actually being the first man, cast out by their God because the image was not to his liking or because the Daemon possessed too much vice and too little virtue.
There are some documents talking about this occurrence and some drawings depicting his appearance, but they are never the same. It is obvious that no one really knows how the first Daemon came to be, but in order to feel pride and purpose it is most likely that this story is created to add to those feelings.

The story goes further, telling that the first Daemon knew that in order to survive, he could not do that alone. Thus he created the first Daemoness. He gave her the darkness and the earth to be born, air to breathe, water and fire to grow and light and wood to evolve. Because of this telling, it is believed that female demons are stronger than their male counterparts as they have been nurtured by all the magic had to offer.
